Probably one of my favorite writers of westerns and that’s mostly what I read. However I find his use of the Lords name in vain offensive. He could’ve used words that would expressed the same sentiment without using language against commandants. 3rd “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain”.Product details

This series was well written. The story line was well thought out. I enjoy each and every book I have read by BK Gore. Can't wait for the next books in his two series.
This does not grab the reader's attention as quickly as the first two novels in the series. Character if the antagonists not sufficiently developed. Still a good read, but not up to the standard of the others. As a note, this book has as many unclear sentences as the first two books.
This book, as with the previous writings from this author, has characters who become real to the reader; a story well thought out and written and events and situations that literally make the reader hold their breath while being completely believable. BK has a unique writing style that pulls the reader into the story as though they were standing right there watching it happen. His grasp and use of the "western" vernacular and grammar along with his obvious passion and knowledge of horses and the western life makes his writing genuine. For the reader that loves to get into the tale, be prepared to be reticent to stop reading even if dinner is ready!!
I have read every book this author has written. I love them all - just wish he could write faster. Prior to reading this book, I went back and reread the second in the series (Heart of a Man) so that I could get maximum enjoyment out of the book. In The Horsemen, the author writes all of the book in the first person for each character. I really enjoy the style of writing. Makes the characters come more alive for me. Mr. Gore is very talented and I hope he continues to write in both the Jenson and the Taylor series. I am not sure which one I like the best.
